What ISH Does For Students

EU Students
International Students Hub Ireland provides the following services:
Prior to the student’s arrival:
ISH advise on the best school for the student
ISH seek the school ‘s agreement to take on the student
ISH choose the best appropriate family for the student
ISH meet and greet agents & parents who wish to visit schools
When and while in Ireland
1. ISH organise the student’s admission and registration process in the chosen school
2. ISH meet and greet parents & student(s) when they first arrive in Ireland
3. ISH organise and interact closely with the host family
4. ISH buy school & PE uniforms, school books and materials and any items related to school
matters from the paid fees
5. ISH monitor the student’s academic progress and particularly so in English
6. ISH monitor the pastoral care within the school
7. ISH monitor social, school and family integration and interaction
8. ISH are in contact with the student on a regular basis
9. ISH visit the student in the host family on regular occasions
10. ISH organise the tuition, preparation and registration for the Cambridge exams
11. ISH liaise and interact with the school on a regular basis
12. ISH attend the parents/teachers’ meetings
13. ISH organise all the transfers to and from the airports
14. ISH organise school breaks should the student not travel back home (as an optional extra &
with parents’ approval)
15. ISH organise any activities at the weekends (as an optional extra & with parents’ approval)
16. ISH organise cultural tours around the country (as an optional extra & with parents’ consent)
17. ISH act as carers and guardians as required by the school system and under Irish and
European laws
18. ISH are the student’s legal guardians
19. ISH work closely with all relevant parties to solve any issues that might arise from time to
time
20. ISH sort out any problems that emerge during the student’s time in Ireland
21. ISH are available 24/7 for the student’s needs

Non EU Students
 Prior to the student’s arrival:
1. ISH seek a student’s profile and objectives
2. ISH advise on the best school for the student to fit this profile.
3. ISH meet and greet agents & parents who wish to visit the schools
4. ISH organise the student’s admission and registration process in the chosen school
5. ISH pay deposits and fees/expenses to the school
6. ISH buy school & PE uniforms, school books and materials and any items related to
school matters from the paid fees
 When and while in Ireland
7. ISH monitor the student’s academic progress and particularly so in English
8. ISH monitor the pastoral care within the school
9. ISH monitor social, schooling and boarding integration and interaction
10. ISH organise the tuition, preparation and registration for the Cambridge exams
11. ISH liaise and interact with the school on a regular basis
12. ISH organise all the transfers to and from the airports
13. ISH organise school breaks in Ireland with host families should the student not travel
back home as an optional extra.
14. ISH organise school breaks abroad should the student not travel back home as an
optional extra.
15. ISH organise cultural tours around the country as an optional extra for the student.
16. ISH act as carers and guardians as required by the school system under Irish and
European laws
17. ISH are the student’s legal guardian while in Ireland. This is a legal requirement by the
Irish government.
18. ISH work closely with the schools and students to solve any issues that might arise from
time to time.
19. ISH sort out any problems that emerge during the student’s time in Ireland
20. ISH attend the parents/teachers’ meetings and provide reports to the students’ parents.
21. ISH are available 24/7 for the students’ needs and have a liaison officer close at hand,
who monitors the students’ classes and English progress.
